Privacy Policy
Last updated:
We built the DefiLlama Extension to improve your on‑chain browsing while respecting your privacy. This page explains what the extension does and does not collect.
Summary
- No tracking. We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or personal data from your browsing.
- No ads. We do not sell data or show ads.
- Local‑only logic. Phishing checks and UI injections run locally in your browser. Price/tag lookups may call public APIs without user identifiers.
Permissions requested & why
The browser requires human‑readable explanations for certain permissions. Here is what we request and the reason:
-
“Read and change data on all sites.”
Required to augment Etherscan (and similar explorers) with wallet tags and accurate pricing and to enable Twitter phishing detection. We request a broad scope so we can add more supported explorers without prompting you again. -
“Read your browsing history.”
This is needed only to read the current tab URL so we can detect phishing domains and switch the llama icon between green (trusted) and red (suspicious). The extension does not store or transmit your history.
What data we access
The extension processes page content on supported sites to inject wallet tags and token prices. It may fetch token/label data from DefiLlama or public APIs to display in your browser. We do not associate such lookups with you personally.
Security
The extension is open‑source and auditable by anyone in the community. For additional assurance, you can review the source code yourself.
